'I'm alive' because of our caring doctors

30 November 2021

Hannah Carson is a staunch supporter of the Murupara Medical Centre saying she’s alive because Te Ika Whenua has such caring doctors who go beyond the call of duty.

Hannah has experienced multiple heart attacks with her first when she was 32 years old.

“I wouldn’t be here without Dr Bernard Conlon. He goes the extra mile and it doesn’t matter who you are. After one of my heart attacks in the middle of the night, he made sure I was stable enough to go to hospital. He ended up following the ambulance in case I needed a special injection that the ambulance staff weren’t able to administer.”

Hannah who trusts in Dr Conlon sought his advice about getting the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Because of my underlying health conditions I talked to Dr Conlon about getting the vaccination. He supported my decision and encouraged me to get it done.”

Hannah says Te Ika Whenua is lucky to have a surgery that is manned by professionals.

“We’re fortunate to have Dr Conlon, Dr Britta Noske and the team at the Murupara Medical Centre. All the staff there give us the same attention and care that’s provided by Dr Conlon. They are genuine and they know us and our health needs.”

She’s also grateful to the surgery for access to education it provides.

“Because of my health complications, my doctors have loaned me books to help me learn about my health conditions as well as ways to work towards prevention - like dietary changes.”

Hannah appreciates and thanks Dr Conlon and the surgery for all they do.
