Murupara GPs are 'an integral part of our community'

01 February 2022

Meet Alison Silcock who shares why she supports her local doctors.

Here’s what she said….

The Murupara Medical Centre is such an integral part of our community. We have such skilled and caring general practitioners, who have been here for a long time, making us the envy of so many rural and isolated areas.

Dr Bernard Conlon is a community doctor in every sense of the word and who continues to care for families who need more than just medical consultations.

He’s well-known in our community for making home visits and helping holidaymakers not well enough to go to the Murupara surgery.

We have been so blessed to have our surgery especially when our young grandchildren, home from Australia, were unwell.

The staff at the surgery were so welcoming to our grandchildren who were well looked after by our doctors.

My family and I appreciate the care and tireless dedication our GPs have provided to our community for so many years.

Ngā mihi, Alison Silcock
