Murupara Medical Centre receives support from Auckland

15 November 2021

A former Murupara Medical Centre kaimahi (employee) who’s now based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) is sending her love, support and appreciation to her former hoa mahi (colleagues).

Mihi mai ki a Ihapera McLean who’s locally known in Murupara as Mokz.

Mokz, a staunch and loyal supporter of the surgery, says she has the utmost respect for the staff there.

“They have shown and helped me even more than my family and friends who are blood-related to me. I’ve known the surgery staff all my life but it wasn’t until I started working there that we bonded as a family.”

She says those at the Murupara Medical Centre helped her become the person she is today.

“If it wasn’t for them employing me then I wouldn’t have been the best single māmā. They helped mould me, enabled me to work around my studies and let me have the freedom to pursue my goals.”

Mokz dedicates her Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) ambulance practice diploma to her former colleagues at the surgery.

“It was their support that helped me achieve.”
