Murupara Rūnanga moves AGM to cater for upcoming Community Unity Day

Updated: Nov 13, 2021

Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Manawa has announced a change of time to its upcoming AGM to accommodate requests from the community so they can attend a prayer walk in support of Dr Bernard Conlon on Saturday, 13 November 2021.

The prayer haerenga (walk) sets the scene for the event called the Communities Standing in Unity.

Both the prayer event and rūnanga AGM had been set down for the morning of November 13th. However after a request by a local Murupara kuia, which received online support by numerous local residents, the rūnanga chair made the following decision today (05 November 2021):

"[The AGM] has now been moved to 1-4 pm on Saturday the 13th November.
The change in time is to accommodate our Ngāti Manawa beneficiaries that want to attend the community rally to support Dr Conlon and the medical centre in his upcoming meeting with the medical profession.
I understand the rally is to start between 9.30 am-10 am and end at around 1 pm which will coincide with the new AGM start time."

The Communities Standing in Unity event is being organised by Te Ika Whenua community members looked after by the Murupara Medical Centre (MMC).
