Thank goodness for Dr Conlon

25 November 2021

Chris Eketone shares his gratitude for Dr Bernard Conlon.

“At the beginning of the year when the specialist rung and said 'You have stage four prostate cancer and I’ll see you in six weeks.' - we were devastated.

"Our response was 'What the hell happened to stages one to three, that you couldn’t let me know earlier?!' Thank goodness for you. You put me through KKC (a treatment clinic) in Tauranga within a matter of weeks and now I’m on the road to recovery. It always feels like it’s just me that you are giving this extra support to but I know that there are so many others who are receiving the same sort of treatment and we all appreciate it.

"Small remote communities like Minginui, Te Whaiti, Ngāputahi etc look forward to your outreach clinics even though we know you’re going to tell us off because we think we’re the doctor and often ignore your advice. Thank you for your ongoing patience, humour and support.”
